President's Summer buffet

Gentlemen,

As mentioned at last Wednesday's meeting, Chris Gale and Tim recently went to Channels and are confident that we can hold the President’s Summer Buffet there this year on Wednesday June 30th 2021, at 12.30 for 1.00 pm.

The bar will be open from 12:30 for drinks and then from 1pm there will be a self-service buffet. The probable menu is:

  • Cold Roast Beef, Cold Roast Turkey, Poached Salmon, Homemade Vegetable Lasagne all with a Selection of Salads, New Potatoes, Bread & Dips

  • Lemon Meringue Pie (Candied Lemon Zest, Lemon Drizzle, fresh Mint) or Fruit Salad with Cream

  • Coffee/Tea & Chocolates

After tight negotiation, the cost has been held to £25 pp which is excellent value for such an attractive venue.

After lunch we will be able to relax in the gardens (subject to the weather!).

For those who did not attend before, Channels is on The Essex Regiment Way on the road to Chelmsford and the postcode for the tech savvy is CM3 3PT (or, for those who remember a certain talk about What3Words, it's here!).

When you arrive at the Park and Ride roundabout, do NOT turn into the Park and Ride carpark, but take the next turning left on the roundabout. There is a small road, Pratts Farm Road, and clearly marked Channels. Follow this road for a quarter of a mile and Channels is on the left. There is ample parking.

This should be a really enjoyable function at a very special cost and we hope that you will all wish to come.

Please respond as soon as possible (so we know likely numbers) using the form on the right and advise your attendance and any guest and then arrange payment (refunded if we cannot go ahead).
